WASHINGTON (AP) -- House lawmakers Wednesday voted to accept an approximately $4,400 pay raise that will increase their salaries to almost $170,000.

I always admired the thought that we should tie in the minimum wage and senate/house wage increases to make things more fair. America is not becoming a caste society, it has alway been one. It's just that we are all too blinded with the idea that we are all equal. not to say we aren't equal. WE ARE!

We all are racist or biased or have negative feelings towards a group or class or nation or race. Most of us feel that we should all have equal rights and equal oppourtunity, and we try to, and to a degree we have reached it. However, since we CLAIM to be FREE and EQUAL this blinds us to the fact that we don't really achieve that all of the time. If we did, there simply would not be hungry people. there would not be homeless people, their would not be PARIS HILTON. Quite the opposite is true. homelessness is rampant, ( i'm not talking about the hippie acid who chooses his lifestyle here)
